I took so called Eiken, a test in practical English proficiency in November. I took the first grade exam, which is the highest level of the exam, and passed the first stage (writing exam) but failed the second stage (interview exam).<br /> <br /> I'm going to take the second stage exam in February so I've been cramming for the exam. The interview exam has three parts. At first two examiners, one is native English speaker and the other is Japanese, ask some questions about myself and we have small talk. Then I pick one topic form five topics and construct a two-minutes speech within one minute. After deliver the speech, examiners ask questions about my speech. Why do I think that way or something like that.<br /> <br /> Last time I took the exam, I wasn't that nervous and I thought small talk went well, but I chose difficult topic to make a speech. It was something like "Should large corporations take social responsibility more seriously?" and I couldn't make decent speech nor answer the examiners' questions.
