Weee for Wii

I used to spend a lot of my past time by playing game consoles with my colleagues. They're really addicting. Now I'm thinking if I should just buy my own PS3 or XBox. I'd probably get XBox since I'm more familiar with its settings and configuration. Plus it has many really good games and can be modified much more than the PS3.

But in all fairness to Sony PS3 though, they have the much more powerful hardware, and they offer free firmware upgrades. Thay also have built-in blu-ray player and support 1.3 HDMI compared to XBox's 1.2 HDMI. That means PS3 has richer colors and have way better graphics than 360.

Here's another reason why XBox is better, when it comes to online gaming community, XBox 360 still has a much larger following although, you have to pay for a year's worth of online gaming service (PS3's online play is free). No wonder why most of the time they don't work. I personally would rather pay for something I know that is going to work than have a free service that doesn't work all the time.

Here's the catch, I was watching TV last night and they featured this seventh generation of video game systems called Wii. It has a wireless controller and Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detect movement in three dimensions. The makers of Wii says its Remote controller aimed To make gaming as accessible to people of all ages and all abilities. I love it! It's wireless, innovative, affordable, and offers an exciting gaming experience.

Now I know which one I should buy. Wii it is.

Questions that need answers

I used to be a loner. But, whenever I was with people, I drew lessons from them. I inquired a lot about how they live, how they learn, how they react to situations without realizing my need for these information, which I can never learn had I chosen to not be around people. Good thing there's school. What could have happened to me if I were a complete hermit and locked myself in the house because of my natural fear of people hurting me? If not for the people I met and allowed in my life, my lessons won't be complete. My knowledge of the world won't increase. Relationship is extremely important. All kinds of it.

And maintaining relationships requires making another person happy. Knowing that we make others happy gives us satisfaction and real happiness. It gives us self-worth knowing we have done something divine for another human being. At least, this is one very important way I know how to live a meaningful life. Not to mention very satisfying. In fact, there are countless ways to live with so much purpose. Depends on each one of us. We must live according to how we are designed to live. But, here's a better way of realizing things better. When you start feeling empty, as if, you're walking half-asleep with no clear direction, ask yourself these questions "why do I feel this way?" or "what is missing?" More often than not, we find these questions hard to answer.

My first book

I've finished writing my first book. The following passage was an excerpt:

I looked back at her when she wasn't looking anymore. It hurt me more than I could take, seeing her with another man, looking happier than ever. I wanted to run away and shout until I run out of voice, until my vocal chord explodes. I really wanted to die, I really did. What have I done wrong that deserves this kind of torment? How I wish I could bring the past back, bring those days back, those days I spent with her — those days when he was mine.

So I gazed upon the food served on the table — they’re really delectable to the eye, made me wonder if they taste good as they appeared. Someone called my name and said "Would you be watching the concert with us?", the voice seemed to be coming somewhere far, penetrating through my consternation over the food. Then I searched the whole place and encountered a pair of penetrating dark eyes anticipating my answer, how could I ever forget her voice? How could I ever forget that voice that haunted me every night? The voice which whispered like a prayer every night? Oh I knew why, while I missed the voice so much, I tried hard, really hard to bury it at the deepest recess of my soul. Because I lost her before and I couldn't have her anymore. Not now. Not ever.

That was definitely a long night and I really wanted that night to end so I could sleep and wake up tomorrow thinking that that was just a nightmare, a bad, bad dream. I could hear Fra Lippo Lippi singing at the background – was it just an imagination? No, as if to mock me some more, the restaurant played a song that blatantly expressed what I was exactly feeling that very moment.

Canine justice

My pet dog Ian is like any normal Labrador. He likes to get his teeth at something so I buy him those toy bones that cost around 5 bucks. Ian would play with it for a few minutes but it will just disappear after a few minutes. I read though that too much of those toy bones could hurt a dog's tummy.

So Ian, being the dog that he was, will set his eyes on slippers, shoes, sandals that are accidentally left within his reach. There was an instance where a carpenter doing work on my brother's house lost his slippers. It was too late when we saw Ian biting it off to pieces. Fortunately he wasn't wearing something expensive like Havaianas. It was just the ordinary slippers that you can buy from the nearby market.

The other day, Ian bit off something from under my sister's car. I don't know what its for. Hopefully it's something not important and can do without.

And so I bought him to the Dog Justice Hall, and the canine judge ordered him to be sent to confinement for a week, with suspended privileges like no dog visitors allowed, no phone calls, no playing with other dogs, no playing around the house and looking for things to break and chew, only minimal walk outside for daily exercise. That's the only time he'll get out of his cell this week. If random destroying of property continues after, the canine judge will recommend that Ian attend dog obedience therapy which I'm sure Ian dreads the thought of attending. Hopefully he'll survive!
