The reason I have started this diary is so I can get in touch with a few people who may be going through a similar situation as myself--if no one responds, that's OK, sometimes it's nice to have someone stop and listen.  My boyfriend is in Iraq right now and is stationed in Samarra.  We just started dating when he came back on leave in July.  I have known him for over five years now and we finally decided that we are going to be together--for our sake, I think it worked out better that way.

Update 1/15/06: Funny how things work out, isn't it?  So much has changed since I began my diary.  As some may know, my boyfriend broke up with me via email 11/16/05 because he re-enlisted in the Army for an additional four years.  Reading my original reason to why I started this diary and the fact that I was glad to start a relationship at that time now makes me realize that we shouldn't have began the relationship.  Hindsight is 20/20.  Damn it!

Hopefully, things will look up for us in our relationship (even just as friends), so I will try to write as much as I can here to keep this journal going.
