Welcome!
So this is my shiny new fitness diary! Starting July 13th, I began a 12-week fitness challenge. This being my second or third (okay 5th) attempt this year, I needed some additional motivation and accountability to actually complete the 12 weeks. After running through the gamut of reasonable avenues for support, it occurred to me that something more drastic might be in order. I decided to put my fat ass on the internet.
Okay, so I'm not completely fat. I'm actually in okay shape after completing another 12 week challenge last fall. I have mostly maintained my cardiovascular and muscular strength. However, life and work and other challenges got in the way. Which then lapsed into laziness and outright apathy. All of those giant blueberry muffins didn't help either.
At present, I'm not in the shape that I was or aspire to be. Ergo: this diary.
Over the next 12 weeks, I'll be following a regime of regular workouts and a super healthy balanced diet. (A detailed explanation of which can be found in a series of diary entries to follow.) I'll also try and include as many helpful and amusing tidbits as possible - from workout music to random gym observations.
I am not a doctor, a personal trainer or a registered dietician. I absorb a lot of crap on the internet and in magazines and I utilize it to the best of my ability for my own best results. Feel free to do the same with this diary, but please don't take my word as anything resembling authorative, when it comes to health and fitness. Dig?
