I'm in my early 50's, divorced, with two adult children and grandchildren.
I enjoy reading, writing, art, movies, and learning more about the world and the people who populate it. It seems the older I get, the more I know how little I really know about it, and how little of it is really sure. A
Although I write about my personal life sometimes, most of my entries are about things in the news that I need to comment on, or some interaction with someone that I question or want to relate, or perhaps an observation about something else I've seen that I've just got to get out. Let's face it, the internet has opened up a bigger world for all of us and there's a lot things going on every day and some of them are startling to me. Some are startling especially since others don't seem startled as I do about them.
I no longer accept unsigned notes. I did get some unsigned, helpful comments, perhaps from people who were too shy to sign or afraid I'd be angry. But I've had a couple of trolls now and I don't want to let the trolls ruin my OD experience. Please also, don't be mean to any of my other noters. Don't say anything indirectly in response to another note that you would not leave on that person's diary. Everyone may have different perspectives on things and I'd rather be able to ruminate on them than feel like someone jabbed me in the ribs and called me (or one of my other noters) stupid or something similar. If you simply can't comment without being snarky, please do as I do, and just leave that entry alone. I don't ever want to have to block anyone, although there are a few people who I used to follow who I don't anymore because they either were, or became, snarky.
What I love most about OD is that it's a friendly place, unlike other internet forums, and I want to keep it that way.
Random noters are of course welcome!
