This is an ongoing story that takes place in the distant future.   

Serving a bid for a crime he committed, Marcus enters a world where he lives in fear of abuse, rape, and the denial of his freedoms.  Longing to be on the outside, he watches the news from his cell.  Without a family to visit him he just sits in his cage and waits for the day he is let loose back into a society that will shun him.  However, the news reports were filled with more and more violence on a daily basis.  It was not the violence that surprised him, but how the violence took place.  Reports of grizzly murders with mutilated victims saturated the air waves and occurred very frequently in his hometown and and pretty much the entire state of Ohio.  At first he thought it was the cause of drugs or some sort of animal attacks, but then he saw the dead rise live on television.  Watching on a TV bolted to the wall it became clear that this was something more than mere chaos could create.  Some of the victims he saw used to be his friends, coworkers or his distant family.  Marcus wanted to turn the TV off, but it was all he could do to escape the life he was living.  It sort of made his cell seem like heaven.   That was when hell came knocking on the door.  After seeing the infected overrun his hopes, all he has left to do is escape, but how?   

And that is only the beginning of where this hell will take him.
