Note searching Monday, September 12, 2011

As many of our members know, note searching* has been offline for a while now because it wasn't fully compatible with OD6 and friend groups. We're sorry for any inconvenience this caused, but we're glad to be able to say that it is now back online, with one slight limitation:

You can currently only search the notes on your own diary, unlikely searching entries, it won't yet work on other diaries.

This partial fix is because the majority of messages we've received have been in relation to searching your own diaries, but please be assured we do still plan on restoring the ability to search notes on other diaries. Because of the security concerns we've still got lots more testing to complete, but we aim to have it fully operational within a few weeks at most.

*Note (and diary) searching is only available if you have a current Open Diary Plus subscription.

While we appreciate all your notes, If you require assistance, please contact us via the help link in the top-right of every page as this is the fastest way to receive a reply.

This is completely off the topic, but I just wanted it to be said: It's so nice that OD remains (pretty much) the same. As a member of Facebook, I am constantly let down by the changes that they make, without asking, that suck. You can say all you want about change, but a lot can be said too for stability and reliability. Thanks, OD.

I upgraded my diary a number of days ago and still have yet to see the changes to my diary. My paypal transaction ID is #1D190398MC4421310. I also opened a dispute, this is the third time I have had to wait to receive my upgrade. [alwayschangingalwaysgrowing]

Hey, I've got a suggestion for mobile OD users. You know how you have a confirm action box that pops up when clicking on "privatise note", well, could there be one for "block user". Too many times I've clicked on it by mistake and it's immediately blocked them (one on occassion I didn't realise I'd blocked them and it was only when I accidently touched it on a different user that I noticed). It's especially missed when I've immediately clicked something which has bypassed the loading of the blocked user screen. [Geli Deli]
