I was driving at about 40 MPH coming on the bridge from Highlands NJ into Sea Bright NJ. Light traffic but on my right a car in the lane next to me decided he wanted to come into Sea Bright rather than proceed into Gateway National Park ( Sandy Hook ) and signaled and moved in front of me in my lane. I took my foot off the gas and allowed him and almost immediately the car in front of him braked, he barked and I braked and…
I had a n ice and relaxing Fathers Day. I went to a 9:30 am meeting and listened to a fine Lady Speaker with a very inspiring story detailing her 25 years as a Biker; an Alcoholic and her long recovery. Very motivational and I identified with a lot of her story. Leaving the Meeting I went looking unsuccessfully for a Patio Table but I did managed to buy a Garden Hose. I also bought a Fruit Tart to bring with me to my Son’s house for a Father’s Day BBQ.
My Son Rob was there, his wife and youngest Daughter, Kim as well as my older boy, Tom and Mary his wife. Her Mother and Step Father were also there and it was a great day. As normal they all gave me Father’s Day and Birthday gifts. It also included a Golf Club but like last year Rob did not use it to break his nose again.
Coming back hone into town I heard the screech of brakes and felt the impact of a crash. I immediately pulled off into a closed restaurant and the other car followed. It was a young girl who hit me and we quickly established that neither of us were hurt and called the police. We swapped information and I was happy my damage was confined to my left rear bumper so no muffler damage but her car was a mess. It was a small Honda Fit so her hood and right fender and RF Quarter panel were seriously involved Her BF came as he was nearby at a Party. We determined that she was able to drive her car but the Policeman suggested she not go very far with it. The Police report was done quickly but I bet she felt sick when the Policeman addressed me by name . I did my best to put her at ease and the arrival of her BF also helped. Once again seat belts helped prevent any serious injuries.
HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL
