To all the single moms out there who have played both mommy and daddy--it hasn't gone unnoticed.
You played good cop and bad cop. You disciplined and cuddled. You taught how to bake and how to use a hammer. You dug in the dirt for worms and then played dress up with Barbies.
You were there for all the good times--the laughter, the cuddles, the successes.
You were there for the bad times--the tears, the fights, the failures.
You didn't get a night off when you were sick. You didn't have someone to shift the responsibility to when you got tired. You couldn't tag team with another person. You played two roles every moment, doing your best for your child(ren).
Know that they have noticed. If they are too young now, they will look back someday and see.
Your sacrifices, hard work, and dedication toward your child(ren) will stay with them forever.
There will never be a day when I don't look back at my mom and say "Wow--I am in awe of all she has done for me."
Thank you, mom, for everything! I am honored to call you my mom and I celebrate you--today and always. :)
