Looking at this glass

Looking for a
            light that flows
                              from the
                       darkest reaches of your soul
                 your tiny heart
                                beating slowly
                      breaking in
to a soul that has no light
      letting a new light in
but do we have light
or are we just a burnt out bulb,

or is the light just heat
               from the fires
                    of
                    H
                     E
                      L
                       L
that we are so close to falling in to....

Or are we torturing ourselves for nothing
          loving for nothing
          hating for nothing
         denying for nothing
      destroying for nothing
    in the
        end we do it all
                FOR NOTHING!

Nothing except this
               s h a t t e r e d
           glass
that we somehow piece back together
each time it gets thrown to the ground
    and stomped on.

Although we lose
              pi ces
          of it
                of the gl ss
We lose pieces of our soul
               the darkness coming again
the final time we cannot put it back together
          Like the shattered glass
        That makes up our
                         heart
But love is a glue
         making a sticky situation
                           out of a broken he\art
We piece together
               the shat
                       tered glass
although it no longer is the same
              it is still our heart

Smaller yet then the last time
             the wall goes up again
                 to protect this glass
 heart
         because if it breaks again
       there will be
                  only sand
left in a shell of a man

Random noter: saw a note you left someone about 'lower back tattoos never mean anything'. Not true. I have one tattoo and it's on my lower back. It's there so I can hide it if I want to (and I often do), and it says 'faith' because I am religious. If that doesn't mean something, I don't know what does =) [Maybe Not Today...] 9/6/2006 1:04:15 AM
