Find a Diary

may 30 Wednesday, May 30, 2012

It's Chris's 27th birthday today, and hopefully I get to talk to him at all.

The mother and grandmother arrived this morning, bright and early. I had intended to fall asleep early last night in order to be well rested, but as mentioned in yesterday's entry, I ended up being awake from 11:30 onward. I am so tired right now...plus, as I had anticipated but hoped wouldn't happen, my grandmother kind of wants me to do all this stuff with them while they're here. I was wanting this weekend to be a relaxing, sleeping-in kind of deal. Maybe I'll try to compromise and tell her I can meet up with them in the city for dinner or something.

I'm just not interested in wandering around the city. Plus, my knee started bugging me yesterday evening and now it really hurts to walk on it. It's the left knee, which is also the same side where I think I have plantar fasciitis. I think all the limping from that is making my knee feel craptastic. I think that's a good reason to take it easy.

Whooo, I just had a wave of sleepy hit me. We have a "medical room" here...no one ever uses it, and it's just a cot with a blanket and pillow. I may sneak upstairs and take a nap over lunch, since I can't take one in my apartment. At least not a comfortable one. But it's only 10:40 and no one takes lunch around here until noon at the earliest. Maybe some coffee chugging will help...I don't drink the stuff, but I make the occasional exception when I'm this tired.

I'm glad to have my family here, but I can tell it's going to be a long week. We (being they) spent fifteen minutes on the train ride home trying to decide if we were eating out, or staying in for dinner. I think they landed on staying in...and it sounds like spaghetti. Although if I'm still this tired when I get home, I won't be eating much...tired trumps hunger.

Neat, a medical room. You would never see that in the United states unless you worked for some progressive company. [Forty and Fabulous] 5/30/2012 11:09:45 AM
