I've had a very fun time watching the Olympics. I didn't care for last night's opening ceremony; I felt like they kept trying to make it all full of meaning and politics...I only enjoy watching the opening ceremonies for the announcement of the countries participating.

One thing I do love about the Olympics is that it fosters both a sense of pride in my own country, but at the same time, I also find myself rooting for the underdogs and I'm genuinely happy for other countries.

I only wish there were a tv channel for people like me here...I'd like to see more about the Americans, and not just when the British lose to them. Of course, you can't expect too much when you're not living in your home country.

I just got back from an hour walk, so it's time for a shower. I think I'll park myself in front of the tv after that and watch a movie or two.
