She told me she would call
For the 3rd time
She let me fall
After all the things I've done
She doesn't care
About anyone
Except herself
And I watch her
And hear about her
naively putting herself on the block
And I watch and wait
Because I can't
Be there to tell her she's being used
And soon she'll be paying
everyone else's dues.
If I could be there
I would tell her
But she's grown tired
Of my relentless lectures.
Even if I was sitting there
With my mouth open
With good intentions
She'd be rolling her eyes
And not paying any attention.
