Today, for the most part was a typical boring day. I woke up at about 9 and called to see when I had to go in to teach because two of my classes got combined. Luckily I didn't have to go in until 1130 so i got to sleep an extra hour and a half. I really need to get another tv or a studio apartment. I NEVER sleep in my room. Isn't that just wrong, LOL.
So I went in at 1130 and taught my beginning jazz/hip-hop class. My lack of patience is probably gonna be the end of me because teaching children under the age of 14 is sooo frustrating and they weren't even badly behaved. I guess its just the fact that they're children. I will learn. Even though I have been teaching a year this is still my first teaching gig. And as far as experience goes for educators, a year is not a very long time. I think I just need to play with my methods a little more and see what it is that I have trouble teaching and fix that. I don't suppose the kids were that bad. I do believe I should offer them a little more of a challenge.

I am also teaching for Danceworks' outreach program at First Congressional. . .Those kids were well behaved. I will only be working with them for two weeks on tuesdays and thursdays though. Hopefully I can get something across. I need to take more classes myself. I'm getting a little lax on my own training. I am going to try to start getting more involved with Project Motion when I finally get the time. 

So now I'm sitting here getting ready to throw some meat and rice on the stove and make something tasty happen.
