Damien Rice - 9

Süßinka was spayed on the 13th. The whole process lasted less than two hours, and when she came home, she was still completely passed out from the drugs. Within a few hours, she was already walking around... or trying at least. By the next morning, she was doing well enough to crawl up on the bed or couch and to eat. Since then, though, she has been extremely clingy, especially with me. If I stand up or am walking around the apartment, she follows me around and meows at me repeatedly to pick her up and cuddle with her. I have had to eat with her in my lap since yesterday and made the mistake of not closing the bathroom door all the way. She managed to open it and literally tried sitting in my lap while I was peeing. I feel bad for her, but she's a pretty furry thing, so it's obnoxious when she's trying to rub her face on mine while I'm trying to eat.... I guess she just knows who Momma is and is trying to get affection when she's not feeling well. (Yes, that was me referring to myself as "Momma" when talking about my cat...)

On to the renovation update. Leo and I finished the walls, and I pulled up the flooring last night. The plan is to start putting down the new flooring throughout the week and to finish it over the weekend. I don't know how plausible that is, though, because Leo is still working 50+ hours a week, and I just got a new translation project. He's really excited about it, though, because he's never laid hardwood before so he wants to try his hand at it.

I uploaded more pictures of the process to Facebook although I don't really know if anyone cares to see them. If so, the new ones start in the middle of the second page. The other photos are from earlier renovation projects we've done here.

Even though it's completely chaotic and dirty, it looks so much nicer here now. I only wish we'd had the money to do this earlier so we could have enjoyed the pleasures of a nice apartment for longer than 3 weeks. (Can you believe we're moving in 3 weeks?!!) Still, once we're in Tampa, we'll not only be in a nice apartment, we'll also have awesome weather. Suck on that, Estonia.

Anyway, I've manage to procrastinate the entire day and now Leo's on his way home and the kitchen's a mess. Time to be productive.
