(De)hermiting Thursday, June 21, 2007

Finally feel as though the pieces of my life are being placed in their rightful spaces. Leicester and England and the whole European experience are like a distant dream to me now, and coming back from it has thrown me competely off balance.

The past few weeks I've been furiously filling out applications. 'Job hunting' should be a full-time position. Found a position at my university's bookstore and as a tour guide to prospective students for the campus. I actually had to sit in on one of those 'information sessions,' where the admission counselors tell all the rising seniors what it takes to get into the university. And everyone has their moms and dads. Very 'tables-are-turned' kind of vibe. And, this morning, I got the good news that I'll be an office assistant at The Breeze, which is the student-run newspaper on campus.

Dave and I broke up. Rather, I broke up with him. And, not very well at that. We haven't really been in contact sense, which I'm hoping is just a phase.

Judd wrote me again. Said he dreamt about me the other night. Not really sure what to make of that.

And though I've been doing by best to dehermit myself, sci-fi tv keeps me locked away in my room. For one, there's Roswell. I finished the entire first season in 4 days, and I've been bidding like mad on Ebay for the second season. No luck as of  yet.

Also, getting lured in by Buffy again. About to finish the first season for this show too. Actually, all of Fox's shows that got cancelled Futurama. Angel (WB, I know, but I count it like Buffy), The Lone Gunmen, X-Files, Wonderfalls. Greg the Bunny. Woah, I'm such a dork. :)

I'm mad for all those old shows. I haven't watched much TV for the past couple years, so when I think of quality television, it starts with Buffy, Angel, Roswell and the like. If you can, check out Firefly. Joss Whedon's only other series, and if you think Buffy's crew has the market cornered on superbanter, you're in for a damned fine surprise.

And remember, the outside world is overrated anyway. [Rubium Inter Spinas]

Good luck with the job hunting - it's a hard thing, but hope you get something soon. I miss Greg the Bunny - that was a quality show that's gone (same with Futurama). And the above noter commented on Firefly, good show - wasn't as thrilled with the movie either.

Hope you're well.

PAIGE!!!! I love Buffy, Angel and Rosewell lol i grew up with them. just so you know, season 1 and 2 of rosewell are awesome, but season 3 is not at all worth it. you might as well rent the season from blockbuster or something. fox has a show House i think you'd really like it, very witty. I live on tv, i don't think i could ever part from it. [Joce*Lin] 6/24/2007 8:04:50 PM
Paige! I think you just commented on my diary seconds ago, for once we are logged on simultaneously. I MISS YOU! And thank you, your comments made we feel warm inside, and i'm grateful for all the advice. as for the whole virgintopic, i think you described it best, it was definitely 'surreal' feeling. Oh and I've yet to play the WII mario game, but i can't wait.  [Joce*Lin] 7/8/2007 2:38:26 AM
I'm not to great with boxing though, for some reason, i can't seem to punch my opponent, ever. but i love tennis! Can't wait to hear from you again. love [Joce*Lin] 7/8/2007 2:38:52 AM
Hey Paige!

Nervous about meeting the family? No, actually. So far I have talked briefly with her mom and two of her brothers on the phone, and they all seem like very friendly people. I imagine we will get teased seeing how it is going to be a wedding and maybe some people would insinuate when we were to tie the knot.

So what are you doing this summer, the final one before entering the world? [Anton]
