That is the number of days before I take the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) exam.  Been studying hard since the last week of September.  Averaging about 3 hours per day.  By the time test day rolls around, I should be close to 150 hours of total study time or just a little over.

Everyone's been asking.  How's the studying going?  My goal this week was to average 60% on the mock exams.  I was close, but no cigar.  Took 2 diagnostics (3 hrs per exam), 3 case studies (1 hr each), and 11 (1 hr each) quizzes.  My average total score based on 100 points was 57.  I was three points off.  Somewhat disappointing in that everything has not clicked yet.  I can feel it, though, sometimes it's there and other times it just disappears again.  I just have to find that consistency of getting the right answers 70% of the time.

I just need to read the questions more carefully and I think I will get the points.  Starting tomorrow, I'm going to concentrate a little bit more in that area.  This week's goal is 70%.  If I'm not there, I'll be worried because I'll only have 4 days left to ramp up.  I hope that I will peak in time...

...timing is so critical at the moment.  This will be one of my biggest exams since passing my Naval qualifying exams to become an officer back in the day.  This one is not as "life-or-death" or "make-or-break", but the feeling is the same.  I have to pass it so I don't have to take it again.  Putting this much effort...it's tough...especially since I have such an active social life these days.  I sure miss tango a lot.

Anywhoo, just a quick update.  Wish me luck, light candles if you go to church, send me positive vibes, and say a few prayers well-wishing me to success.  I need all the help I can get: mentally, physically and spiritually to get past this thing.

That is all I have for now.  Cheers, "Sly"  :-D

Luck, vibes and prayers your way!! [purelymesa] 11/5/2007 11:57:51 AM
I'm sure you'll do fine... but, best of luck!

ryn: Yeah... I agree that it's one of the safer areas of the military. I'm still frightened though. If everything does fall through and he does have to be stationed somewhere and everything, I would definitely enjoy speaking with someone who can realte to everything. Thank you for thinking about me. :) [shimmer]
