Find a Diary

a prayer for the wild at heart
by kept in cages
Location: the blue of my oblivion
Age: 25    Sex : F

Sarasota 2/5/2008

neighborhood names, in order of appearance on the drive to Turtle Beach:
Sara Sea Circle, Casa Siesta, Vista Hermosa,
Whitehall Place, Senderling Club,
Point Crisp, Oyster Cove,
Banana Bay Club, Heron Lagoon Circle,
Bay Tree Club, Tortuga,
Turtle Bay, Island Reef, Sunrise Cove,
Coral Shore, The Moorings,
Somerset Cay,
Waterside Place.
(names I scribbled on a stray receipt,
backseat,
windows down and
sea air spraying
while I let ash gather
into a fragile column
on the tip of today's third blunt.
I tallied the Sotheby's signs, too...
flimsy posts outside winding stretches
of mismatched fences
bearing madlib: Florida names.)
I borrow your
personal journal for
paper
on the beach
and I sift through sand
for the shiniest shells,
often stopping to write:
crab holes, fish corpse,
Hitchcock-gull flocks
bullying me back to your car.
Softly from your headphones now,
я не могу устоять.
ya ne mogu ustoyat.
I cannot resist.
I wonder how to dive from that
into "I miss."
every other person here
is some multiple of our age
and coupled off --
couples coupled, even...
four gray and distant heads
bobbling into our crowd
of starving flying stalkers.
you grip the glass bottle tight,
should they menace us again.

Just thought I would say hi. Looks like your entries have become sparse, but I still love reading your words.

Take care,
