Here the tree is finished, the presents for those here wrapped, and checks sent to the grandkids. Aaron has returned from Afghanistan and we will mail a little something off to his mom. A little something else was sent off to Lenora…who I dearly miss, and a thousand little nou-nous are wrapped for Lessa and Zoe.
I only ate two brownies and two chocolate covered Christmas trees at work yesterday, yet my guilt level seems semi under control. I hope all you cookie addicts and chocoholics can join me in letting your guilt go for the next few days. Be assured, I’ll be joining Cookies Anonymouse as soon as the holidays are over.
The house is ready for a few guests today while I remember all those who aren’t here to join us this year like Dale and Harriette. The wassail is on to simmer and fill the house with holiday smells. The heater is on this one day of the year, and already I’ve pushed the hood off my head and taken my fingerless gloves from my hands.
We wish you all a happy, warm, and safe holiday with love from us.
- Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.
- Himself: Putting up with the holiday fuss with great panache.
- Herself: Fussing.
- Reading: Another Evanovitch.
- News: PAH made it through the surgery. The kids are very sad but glad they have him for a while longer.
- Fridge installed with lots of fuss. Interior shelves are smaller than they old one, but this one is vastly quieter. I'll buy two more door shelves.
- Balance: Quiet for a while.
Ho, Ho, Ho.....

I'm sorry about the kids' dad but glad they have a good relationship with him. One of the things we give our children without much planning (most of the time) is our choice of their father. It's good when it works out as well as it does. Perfection is a remote goal.
Love the tree. Now, IT is perfect. [woman in the moon]

When we replaced a 10 year old apartment sized fridge with our full sized new energy efficient one, our electric bill went down enough that we noticed. Again, the washer/dryer was 10 years old and replacement with a new one also had a perceptible drop in electricity expense. Hope you find this happens with your new fridge. Tree looks wonderfully festive! [seedys]

For me, hampers seem to be the designated gift this year. (The second one arrived this morning.) I've done some nibbling, some judicious regifting to others, and, where I knew I simply didn't have the willpower to keep the chocolates/biscuits in the house, some quick composting. I do wish people would give me flowers instead! But how do I indicate that without seeming ungrateful?
Congratulations on limiting your chocolate intake.
Happy, happy Christmas to you both!

Happy Christmas Eve, Georgette, to you and the Geezer!
My boyfriend is sick now, and I was sick with a cold earlier this week, even missed one day of work. My whole office was nasal and congested and sneezing on Friday. I'm still not feeling well.
Somehow we'll get these presents wrapped. At least our shopping is done. I don't know who's going to be at my parents' house tomorrow, depending on the wellness factor. [cricket_factor]
