Crisp and Cold Saturday, December 29, 2012

Summer Surprise.

The air is crisp, the sun is still out, and I am looking for some of 2012’s favorite shots to share with you this chilly morning.

Some of my best work is done on or near the water. I love clear days and details on the ships.

Actually, I love repetitious details any which way I can get them.

Sometimes you just have to laugh as with this row of tired bras at a thrift store. Not my store, mind you.

I rarely do well with the big view often just creating more boredom, but I love to crawl right in and capture the tiny stuff.

Then again, sometimes the tiny stuff works well in a broader view too as in this portrait of my friend Bee.

  • Keeping those on the east coast in my thoughts.

  • Himself: ”I think I am getting your cold. Dang.”

  • Herself: Moving on down in my chest.

  • Reading: You all, at the moment.

  • Balance: Does blowing my nose help?

The orange dots are fun.

Muchas Smuchas

Wow, your photographs are fabulous. I recently saw a rack of bras at a thrift store and thought how thankful I am that I can buy new underwear for myself, but I'm glad the thrift store items are there for those who need them. [Elan] 12/29/2012 2:08:27 PM
RYN: I am definitely going to try!!! [cricket_factor] 12/29/2012 2:10:38 PM
Your artist's eye turns up everywhere!  [BonnieRose] 12/29/2012 2:25:17 PM
a great choice of photos...and the final one is particularly well captured.
Do people actually buy 2nd-hand bras?
have a good day ...hugs p [Gypsy Spirit]

I so appreciate your artist's eye. Thank you for these. [Arbi] 12/29/2012 3:42:13 PM
What is the difference between a second hand bra and a two handed bra? [ThomaS] 12/29/2012 5:47:24 PM
off handedly i would say you get the bigger picture while i am not to sure about others we know...hehehehehe [oulin] 12/29/2012 6:07:15 PM
Zicam swabs.
I swear by them [+Pelican]

Yeah - the drink containers. Awesome. [Jeanne] 12/29/2012 7:34:10 PM
Your photos are always amazing. You do capture some special 'insight' or detail which someone else might miss completely. You really capture color where it will slip away unnoticed by other people.  [the_mysticalmuse] 12/29/2012 9:44:39 PM
pretty photo of Bee...got my first copy of my new book yesterday...looks good...Kay  12/29/2012 9:46:57 PM
RYN: lettuce, via mail? Sounds like a recipe for disaster and disappointment. could get too warm, too cold, or too late. At least when produce arrives via barge, it is only a week old when it gets here. I whine sometimes but am grateful for what I do get.

I am SO hoping that cold will turn loose of you soon, I hate to picture you cold and cold. I am glad you will get better windows and insulation AND heat too. I am still marveling at the difference our insulation is making... [seedys]

Love the photo of Bea. [LightButHearty] 12/30/2012 1:01:57 AM
What ARE those rowns of blue/orange? Hope he doesn't get your cold.  [balansert] 12/30/2012 5:37:31 AM
What a good adjective for those old bras...tired bras.
How would one make a used bra fit..."oh, I'll put a tuck in the cups, and maybe take in two inches at the back?" [TrilliumZen]

I need one of those sippy cups for watching the BRONCOS this afternoon. (Great pics, Georgette!) [aunty EM (2)] 12/30/2012 11:30:08 AM
I've wondered about your pictures showing mass products. [Sobernt] 12/30/2012 11:30:51 AM
Your eye is keen and your observations acute. I think your photos are varied and enriching. [TickTockTickTock] 12/30/2012 12:49:01 PM
Bras do get tired. [woman in the moon] 12/30/2012 11:01:02 PM
Love the portrait of Bee, especially the light and dark of it. [T] 12/31/2012 11:31:16 AM
Am loving the tall ship Pics.there is something about ropes and varnished wood.We owned a gaff-rigged yawl for a while. A bit of a pig to sail as she wouldn't do windward sailing happily, however, learnt heaps about ropes, canvas, solid masts and booms and was quite happy to go back to the more modern types!Tired bras tickled my sense of humour a lot!Lotsa lovexxxxx [majimaze] 1/2/2013 10:09:08 PM
