Preparations Sunday, January 22, 2012

  • It was snowing fairly steadily on Saturday so I didn't drive into town to see Fred.
  • Fred's daughter and son-in-law spent time with him today so I didn't go in today.
  • Tomorrow I am staying home because one of the physical therapist is making a house visit to make sure his walker and other things will fit through the doors, so I won't be going to see Fred tomorrow.
  • Tuesday I am going with a suitcase to pack stuff up and bring it home for him. Wednesday, he is coming home. His son-in-law and the son-in-law's brother will be bringing him home and since I am putting my car on the street at that time, they can get him over the snow/ice, up three steps which he probably will be able to manage on his own, and into the house!
  • The last few days, I have got a lot done. I have unpacked and set up another book case in the bedroom and transferred DVD sets from the heaps piled on each other to an ordered existence where I can find them. I also honestly assessed which ones I would never watch again and found a good home for them via Freecycle. I vacuumed all floors and will mop the kitchen one and very likely the bathroom floor, too, tomorrow morning. I bought groceries and put them away.
  • Tuesday evening before I go to bed,  I will toss the ingredients for chili into the Crock Pot and set it on low, and this should be done by the time Fred gets home around noon.
