Never ending math equation 3/11/2004

So I'm just not getting as much work done as I had hoped. About a week ago, I met a kid named matt that lives in the dorms. He seems pretty cool. Came down to my room to see if he could borrow the vaporizer. Said of course, and we smoked a joint in my room before he left. It was nice. I've been saving up for the trip, so I haven't bought a bag in a while.

I finally got a job today. Thank god. It's really hard to find a job because the only places that you look are on campus, and they fill up quickly. It's not that I wouldn't work at an off-campus job, only that I just don't really take the time to go and look for jobs off campus all the time (because that's hard to do too- we're really in a job slump right now). So there was a posting on the website for the school job listings that was for an off-campus job. I called and had an interview and whatnot, and she called me back today. So, now I'll be helping to teach high school kids art lessons, and doing all of the lesson planning. I get nine bucks an hour, so I'm pretty pumped. Only the bus ride is kind of tedious (almost an hour to get there, but it's about 3.2 miles away. Just insane. ) Plus, the bus drivers are on strike, so I can't even get there until they figure all that out. I start on monday after I get back from Chicago.

I went on this awesome adventure last night. See, my friends and I have a habit of getting stoned and deciding to go on adventures. Often, they're as simple as going to grab a cup of coffee, but sometimes they're a little more elaborate (such as the time that we found a key to all of the toilet paper dispensers in the entire dorm and went and stole an entire floor's toilet paper and built a toilet paper pyramid in their lobby). Last night, we decided to go grocery shopping. We borrowed Matt's truck. Holy shit. Okay, this truck is from the mid-eighties, but it honestly looks like it should be straight out of the 70's. It's yellow, and just so ghetto. Bryan and I went, but couldn't think of the closest grocery store. I knew the area better than him, so I had to decide. The only one I could think of was the Rainbow in uptown. Now, most of uptown is really nice, fun, and safe-looking. However, when you travel too far down Lake street away from the river, it gets incredibly scary. Like, I don't think I'd want to be caught there at night (or even during the day, really) alone. This rainbow is in the heart of this area. So, he and I got there, and had a blast. We even had a mission within the adventure- we searched the store over twice trying to find the bread. We ended up having to ask someone. It was just hillarious. Mostly because I was stoned, but also partly because you might just have to know the area.

So, I picked up some soy milk. I've been craving it for weeks, and now I'm in heaven. Oh my god, I love this stuff. And, I'm drinking the raspberry tea again.  So, life is good, and I'm going to try and start that paper...

3.2 miles, one hour, how is this possible? [smiling jack chance] 3/18/2004 5:52:17 PM
