I'm losing my mind,
and wasting time,
cuz when I try to think,
all I see is your wink,
I lost your heart in the snow,
Atleast what it feels like,
hey honey we don't fight,
why are you so cold tonight
I'm losing my train of thought,
television makes my brain rot,
all I can do is think of you,
and all that I didn't do,
I let you slip away,
he came in like watching prey,
charmed you he did alright,
and so here I am tonight
I lost your heart in the snow,
Atleast what it feels like,
hey honey we don't fight,
why are you so cold tonight
should I love you or let you go,
those three words told you so,
you made up your mind anyway,
when you said that I shouldn't stay,
one look- thought it was love,
but for you was never enough
I lost your heart in the snow,
Atleast what it feels like,
hey honey we don't fight,
why are you so cold tonight
so here I am caught in time,
forcing our story to rhyme,
{You couldn't see a future,
but I can't see a past,
only living off what suits your,
emotions isn't what will last}
So I added a little more- and the story developed a little more. If there were a music video to this it would seem to make more or less sense. It changes from past tense to present or future tense a lot throughout the song. I'm not sure if its finished, but its more developed than before. I really feel like since i'm a video kind of person that a music video would really explain the story i've made up much better. The part where it says "those three words told you so" I wrote it in a way that could make you question- were his three words literally "told you so" or did he tell her "I love you" was it a fight about who was right or wrong, or did she leave him because he loved her? I don't know, I just write things. haha. The part in the end about seeing the future and and past I thought went with how the song continually changes which time period in the relationship it is. Interesting to me that the guy says that he can't see a past. Its like he finally realizes that he saw the relationship in a totally different way than the girl did- it was an illusion. He's finally letting go of it. He also sort of calls the girl out on her wavering emotions and lack of looking to anything more solid and real that keeps people together. He talks about love at first sight- so its not like he doesn't believe in emotions or attraction. I think that's interesting.
