My friend Tara is here, in NC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get to see her tomorrow and I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy! I have not seen her in 1 year. That might not seen a lot, but when all of your other friends have gone down to see her in Texas and you haven't because your parents said no, it's a big deal. I am sooooooo excited. I made her birthday present. I is a necklace with a cat on it. I am soooooooooooooooooooo excited. I have to go.

RYN - congrats on getting the bass. Fender makes good instruments. you should do well with that bass. are you going to take lessons or anything? or do you already know how to play? have fun! happy new year and stuff. :)

RYN - I'll see if I can leave a little bass lesson for you on here later on tonight. It'll probably be lame, but at least it'll be something you can mess around with. Are you planning on getting lessons?

ok, here goes with the attempt at a bass lesson. in the notation below, i'll give the fret number and then the string. so 5(4) would be 5th fret on the 4th string. if you don't know, the 4th string is the lowest string (the fattest one). try playing the stuff below. when you get good at it, try playing each note twice instead of just once.

That's sort of your basic rock type groove. (If you really care, it's a standard I IV V chord progression which is very common.) It's in the key of A. After a while, try moving everything up a fret (so it'll be in the key of A#) or down two frets (so it'll be in the key of G).
Oh well. I hope that wasn't too much. Enjoy.

Gah! I messed up. On the 5th line down, the last note should be 6(2), not 4(2) as I wrote. Sorry.
