I'm not sure I've ever been so exhausted a day of my entire life. Not even having 'birthed' three babies. Lord, they called me Grandma all day because I was struggling to keep up at their (admittedly) average pace - so much walking! My knees and hips are no longer 20, and I'm not sure I can honestly say they're even 40. More like 50. I was cold. I was hot. I was interested but too tired to care. I just wanted to GO HOME. Dozed in the car (once we FINALLY got into it) and was in bed by 8:30 pm. I was totally, completely SPENT. Yeah, and American Girl and the Pokemon Store. And I saw where Matt Lauer sits anyway, even if I didn't get to see Matt.
We *did* do a lot, though, if you've ever been there. Drove in, went to Liberty Park in Jersey, saw the Statue of Liberty. No sense going, because it's all closed for renovations. Another time. Then drove in via the Holland Tunnel, parked, and I bought the traditional I<3NY pink hoodie because I was cold. Then I got hot and took it off. Walked to.... um. Times Square, 30 Rock, wherever it is Letterman is filmed, up Broadway, seemed like we circled ourselves a (oh, the WTC memorial via subway) hundred times, went for lunch, went somewhere else that escapes my memory, all in all about 7 hours of walking, walking, walking. Then out for dinner because if you think I was cooking, you're freakin' nuts. And I took a hot bath and went to BED.
Today my belly is icky - I've suddenly had cravings (not those kind) for yogurt and I think it's messing my my system, so I've stuck close to home (and toilets) today.
So tired. A few pics on FB, I'll post more when I find energy.
