This time last year we were in Hawaii, we were at Pearl Harbor for the 63rd anniversary I was moved to tears, I was honored to be there on such a day to see some of the great people that are still alive today and to honor the fallen. The most emotional part of the day was at the memorial where they give you the name of a soldier and a plumeria to throw into the water as a remembrance it definitely is a time of reflection and peace. "Oil droplets bubble to the surface of Pearl Harbor above the USS Arizona to this day, creating a vivid link to the past. On a quiet Sunday morning December 7, 1941 a Japanese surprise air attack left the Pacific Fleet in smoldering heaps of broken, twisted steel. Here, peace was interrupted and paradise lost. In hours, 2,390 futures were stolen, half of these casualties from the battleship Arizona" ( taken from USS Arizona Memorial site) In Australia we have a day called ANZAC day in remembrance of our soldiers, the bugle calls and we have a minute of silence and we recite "Lest We Forget"
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: *****************************************************************************
