I went to Shoppers the other day to take my blood pressure and get a print out. 132/89. I'm still upset about it. I feel like I've been working my ass off for the past 9 months. And for what? More hypertension. :/ Fack.

When do you take it? And how often? Your bp varies through out the day. You should take it through out the day. And after you've been resting for at least five minutes. Maybe get a home one...

That sucks, as the other note said, it's better if they do a day test, there was a big thing in the news here about people getting misdiagnosed because the one-time test is just that - at one time in a whole day.xx

Ryn: Yea I'm pretty sure mine is down now that I've lost weight & I'm positive Jon's diabetes is gone. I just really want to get to my goal first. And Olivia doesn't even seem to care, she hates being restrained more than the catheter being put in, she doesn't even flinch. [lovableoptimist]

A. if you're using those machines in the grocery store, I would do it 3x, get an idea of the average, and still take it with a grain of salt.
B. I agree with above noter that you might want to consider getting a home one if you really want to be diligent in monitoring your bp ... I'd like one myself, just haven't gotten around to it.

(cont.) even if you are eating healthily and losing weight, it can still be on the high side, at least I know mine can. If you go to your doctor and they are concerned, I'd recommend keeping a food diary and being very diligent about your sodium intake ... man they hide that stuff everywhere! It's a challenge, but the RDI for sodium if you have bp issues is 1500 mg per day. [Theatrically Yours]

Ryn: Yea that's pretty much it, no substituting. I don't eat vegan so I don't know if there is but I imagine there is. We filled out a list on the types of food we liked so it's tailored to you specifically when you do this =) [lovableoptimist]
