Enjoyment Monday, February 13, 2012

After almost 5 months we have music in the house again.  This makes me happy.  Ty has all his electronic equipment booby trapped and when I want to listen to a cd or the radio it's virtually impossible.  Thanks to Mr. I Won't Deactivate My Sirius I have some easy to turn on tunes.

I made my appointment to go back to my doctor for a reassessment/return to work note for next week.

Last night I made granola cluster things.  I used Triple Berry Kashi so they're not crunchy and chewy like they're supposed to be but it did use up most of the Kashi.  It was going to expire in a few weeks anyway.  Now I can freeze them  :)

I called Manulife to inquire if they cover the pedal extensions for the car.  That's probably the most humiliated I've been in a long assed time.  I had to explain to this woman what exactly they are and why I would need them. She really did not understand that I'm not classified as a "little person" or whatever the technical term is but I'm still too short to safely drive a standard automobile.  Manulife won't cover them unless you're an amputee or have specific diagnosis like dwarfism.

Oh yeah, I'm 5'0".  My inseam is about 26" and even when I buy petite pants I still need to get them hemmed.  But I'm not short enough for pedal extensions!

I view the short thing differently. I don't see it as something to make fun of, to me it makes you cuter. I know the word sucks but there's nothing wrong with being more attractive. Needing extension pedals isn't a horrible thing. I went to school with a girl that barely topped 4'0". She has the pedal extensions and what not and does just fine driving. If anything it should boost your confidence and empowerment while driving.

That's is shit about manulife though. I think it's more embarrassing that they won't cover them for people that actually need them, rather than a select few. Very horrible indeed. [Eutony]

i can't believe that woman couldn't comprehend your dilema! there have to be more than a few people in the same situation as you. short, but not "legal dwarf" short, or whatever, but also not an amputee.
hmmm.
