Pause for the Cause.... Sunday, October 05, 2008

We hear so much today about vision and the importance of vision. Granted the Bible says, “Without a vision the people perish” (Pr. 29:18), but in order for your vision to be fulfilled it must be attached to a cause. Jesus said, “…to this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth” (John 18:37). King David said, “…is there not a cause?” (1 Sam. 17:29).

What’s the difference between a vision and a cause? The terrorist on September 11, 2001, had a cause not just a vision, albeit an unjust cause. Abraham Lincoln exemplified legendary leadership during a critical time in America’s history because he had a cause. He said, “The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.”

  • A vision creates enthusiasm, but a cause produces power.
  • A vision can exist for you, but you exist for the cause.
  • A vision can help to obtain success, but a cause helps to sustain success.
  • A vision has followers - a cause has crusaders.

Every church, home, business and individual life must have more than just a vision; they must have a vision attached to a just cause. The cause of the poor, the cause of the fatherless, the cause of the defenseless, the cause of the hurting and sick, the unconverted, the cause of the _______________ (you fill in the blank).

Live the Cause!  May your upcoming week be blessed in abundance!  Soft Spirited Lady

I like this! short, to the point and positive. Often I find when my vision is clouded my cause will put me back on the right track. *dispite my abiltiy to walk into walls* (lol)  [Heart-2-Heart] 10/22/2008 1:17:46 PM
I guess I am on a cause right now....like a neighborhood watch so that the thief will not enter their house. The thief has already entered my house (taking away my religious freedom) and now praying...trying to stop it from taking more of what's left.

Thanks for sharing my sweet friend.

Praying you are well.
