I got the week of July 2nd through 6th off. Pretty excited. I'm going to Sunriver outside of Bend for most of it, then stopping for a day to visit my family while they're camping. My boss was pretty willing to give me the days, I earned them. I'm always willing and able to work, I haven't taken any sick days. The girl I work with just told me that she's not going to be working Mondays anymore because she can get someone(another lady who used to work at the office) to cover Mondays because she "Doesn't like Mondays." First off, so dumb. When I asked her what if I need a day for an appointment or what if I'm sick she just looked away and suggested I look at the calender and see if there were any Mondays I would like off. Uh...thanks? Another suggestion she made was I could take a Wednesday off because the girl has that day available. But get this, Wednesday is a short day anyway that ends at 2, why would I take that day off?
This is coming from a girl that occasionally tells the boss she had too much to drink over the weekend. I would never admit or utter such information. Why is my boss letting her get away with this? Does he feel bad for her? I'm not the type of person to throw my weight around and demand a day off that no one really likes for no good fucking reason. People want any excuse to be lazy. I would only enjoy a Monday off if that's what the schedule dictated. Maybe I just have too much sense of responsibility to this job? Am I just jealous like she thinks?
