Running Away From Reality |

Ok i know i will get a lot of hate notes on this but i dont care because this is my opinion.
It sickens me how Americans have this new-found pride in America since 9/11. i bet on the day before 9/11, people most likely wouldnt put American flags on their car bumpers or their living room windows, but on 9/11, people are rushing to stores to get their precious flags. It sickens me how over 7,000 people have to die before Americans realize how America is the greatest country in the world. The Americans who have true pride in America have had it all along and didnt need innocent people to die to realize it or discover it. It sickens me how people in America worship the American flag like its some kind of god since the terrorist attacks. Now Americans have this amazing pride that makes them wanna go out and buy 200 American flags and paste them on their cars, windows, walls, anywhere! It sickens me how Americans drench their houses and cars with American flags, and "God Bless America" bumper stickers. it makes me wanna tear it all down. most of their pride is fake and will fade away after awhile. Just because the terrorist attacks happened and your an American, and you were sad about it, and you are now all-of-a-sudden proud to be an American doesn't mean you have this extraordinary American pride. just because you soak your properties in American flags doesn't mean you have unbelievable American pride. It doesn't make you a better American or a better person. If you truly have great American pride, you wouldn't need a dozen flags to remind you of it everyday, especially on 9/11. Love always, Ellie
