Protest, gas, and skinny asian Subway sandwich boy Monday, May 01, 2006

A big protest happening tomorrow. There's a big population of Hispanics here in NYC, but I'm not sure if the walk-off on the job would compare to the smaller population of the MTA transit workers who really impacted businesses and everyday lives. I hope the immigrants won't run into any problems with their bosses. It's not as easy as it seems. I know many Mexican stockmen around my neighborhood. They always seems so jolly with a smile on their faces, even though many people wouldn't care to say hi to them unless they're white and american. Well I really admire them. They work really hard trying to make a better living for themselves. We all came from immigrants. There's a bit of hypocrisy in the reform. I think there is some truth to a comment once made, of how it's partly to do with a fear of de-whitening america. America isn't what it used to be.

Gas prices are climbing, climbing, climbing higher higher until it reaches an orgasm! Ok so we know we citizens are getting ripped off from the gov't and the mega-fega-uber-riche oil companies. Maybe it's a good thing for our "addiction to oil" *cough* ! we need to start relying on environment friendly sources such as hybrids and the ancient technique called walking. Maybe it's why there's so many fat americans here. The Europeans walk long distances everyday. They even developed high tech shoes for that.

I slept over at Andrey's place last night. We drank beer and watched hockey all night. I must bluntly say it was boring. This is the most hockey I've ever watched in my life! After a few hours of watching the players swivel those sticks and puck, what seemed like a hurricane of men soon became a dance of intricate moves and speed. Okay this is too much hockey. And I still don't understand the hype.

1am. Dinner? Italian B.M.T. sandwich from Subway. Mmm.... I told the sandwich boy to lay EVERYTHING in there. Lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, more, more more... gimme gimme gimme! He broke out into a sweat as he pressed down the sandwich to be wrapped up. "whew! that's a mighty sandwich" says he.
