Finally taking the time to actually design the look of my diary. I am not very good with comptuers, and it took me some time to figure out how to change things. Feeling somewhat isolated being where I live, so I am hoping to find some friends on here. A friend suggested this place so...we will see. I have been busy sewing and canning like a crazy person. Must stock up for the winter you know. The garden didn't yeild as much as it did last year, but we should be all set. I still have quite a bit of food to put up. Next year the garden will be bigger and better, and we will try some new crops. I love not having to rely on the grocery store for my food. It is a great feeling to be self sufficient. I start my sewing this time of year to ensure it will be ready for xmas. I handmake all my gifts as I hate the commerciallity of the whole season. My friends and family love what I make them, and I know it is something they will use, need, want, so I don't have to worry about anyone having to stand in return lines. I sell some of the clothes I make in a local shop. People love them, and can't seem to get enough...so that keeps me busy. It also helps bring in some extra money. The women at the shop says I should sell them online....huh? I would have no idea where to begin. Next week I will start to make the candles we will use throughout the winter. I scent them with oils, so it helps keep our home sweet smelling throughout the long cold winter. I also give them as gifts too. Firewood is on the list. We must get that stacked and ready. We burn it for heat and cooking, so it seems like we are forever cutting, and splitting wood. We also use pellets. Living a life of self sufficiency. It is a great thing, but very hard work. You never get a day off from anything, which is why I really haven't been able to sit down to write in here. I don't usually have the time. I have promised myself to take atleast 5 minutes a day to write at least a few lines. My five minutes are certainly up. I guess I have to get back to work.
