I'm going to make only this one entry public to OD. The rest of my entries are going to be set to favorites only. The reason I'm doing this is because I am very in the closet about my gender issues. My partner knows, but there is an uncomfortableness around it- but that's another long story. I just feel safer somehow, knowing only people who have a genuine interest in my issues surrounding gender are reading my inner thoughts. I could set this diary to private- but I've been too private about my struggles surrounding this my entire life. This is just my way of peeking out of the closet, as it were.
Just starting this diary is emotionally wearing on me. I've spent my life stuffing myself into a shell that is somewhat socially acceptable. I've made my life work. That doesn't mean I'm happy with all the hiding of who I really am inside.
If anyone reads this and is interested in me adding you to my favorites, drop me a note so I can see who you are. There are more entries, but they are set on favorites only.

My husband is struggling with the same issues as you are. He's just told almost everyone except for one friend and the people that we work with about his gender issues (he's biologically female as well). I know I could never fully understand what either of you are going through, but I think that the fact that you're starting to be open about these things is amazing. It shows far more courage then you know.
