If I was ever in doubt about one of the reasons I keep an online diary, I now have at least one answer to my constant questioning.

I write here because I was making a connection.

Without the connection with other people, well, then you have something private altogether, and private has a different focus,and character.

I DO have a private journal. It's on paper. But this blogging thing has opened up a type of writing that is as exotic as it is scary.

Not having Dear Diary up and running made me realize how I have taken my connections with my readers a little too for granted. I don't have any other way to keep in touch with some of you except through the DD interface.

Who knows what is going to happen in the coming days and weeks. No doubt DD will get up on it's cyber feet again. Let us hope so.

And when it does, I need to make some changes.
