RYN: yes we could, but I won't need to hire someone. Between Darren and I, the house could be tidy and clean but I'm a big believer in the people coming to visit us helping out. If I want to take a shower or do some laundry they can watch the baby whilst I crack on for 15 minutes, or they can throw in a load of washing for me or do the dishes or make me a sandwich. When people have a baby it seems to me that someone coming with a bunch of flowers and a card is lovely, but someone coming and changing your bed sheets for you or bringing you some bread and milk and fruit is far more practical and valuable. I always do that when I'm visiting friends with new babies - ask what groceries they need or if they want me to help with any chores.
