Goodbye, Diana Sunday, October 26, 2008

The world was shocked when the news broke out on August 31 that Diana along with her lover Dodi Al Fayed and driver Henri Paul died in a Paris car crash. She was only 36 years old. The world mourned the death of the beloved Princess of Wales. She was at her peak who was not able to see his son William inherit the throne and Harry blossom into manhood.

Flowers outside the Kensington Palace were overflowing. The funeral was watched by an estimated 2.5 billion people all over the world. From the Kensington Palace, the procession marched to the Westminster Abbey. The solid-oak coffin, drawn on a gun carriage, was draped with the Royal Standard. The Abbey was filled with a mix of dignitaries, pop royalty, charity representatives and personal friends of Diana's. Elton John performed “Candle in the Wind” and was followed by Earl Spencer's tribute to his sister.

Her tragic and untimely death has left the world mourning. Friend and supporters have continued her legacy through the number of charities and foundations who have been supported by the late princess.

Princess Diana will always remain to be our princess, our pride. she has maintained to be down to earth during her reign. Alma Mcdonald
