From the Kensington Palace, the procession marched to the Westminster Abbey. The solid-oak coffin, drawn on a gun carriage, was draped with the Royal Standard. The Abbey was filled with a mix of dignitaries, pop royalty, charity representatives and personal friends of Diana's. Elton John performed “Candle in the Wind” and was followed by Earl Spencer's tribute to his sister.
