 Day Five

Five Places You Want to Visit and Why

(yes, I skipped day 4... Just don't feel like it, k?)

1. Paris, France
I took French in school for 5 years, and I've always wanted to see all the places I learned about... The Eiffel Tower, the Arc De Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Sacre Coeur, all of it. I'd love to take a boat tour of the Seine River. Eat real French cheese and baguettes at a little cafe and watch all the people walk by.

2. Germany
Alex is German and he talks about going to Germany all the time. I would love to see his face all lit up and excited like a little kid on Christmas. He is the most handsome when he's super-excited and happy and I'd love to do something (like plan the trip) to directly cause that look on his face!

3. Greece
Seriously, watch "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and tell me how in your right mind you can justify not wanting to go there??? I know I sound like a total lame-ass right now, but I have watched that movie like 2 dozen times just so I could drool over the scenery!

4. The Ice Hotel
A hotel made of ice? Sleeping on ice? Eating off of ice tables? Sounds totally freaking awesome to me! It's in Sweden. Check it out... Just Google "the ice hotel".

5. Disney World
I never got to go to Disney as a kid, but I always dreamed of it. I can't wait to take my kiddos there some day!

Day Six

What band/musician is most important to you and why?

In general, this depends on my mood. Like entirely. I have at least 25 Pandora stations on my phone/account. I listen to so many different things that I can't even come close to picking one musician.

I most respect artists who are honest and open. Artists who write their own music, based off of their own lives and their own experiences. Anyone can sing a song. Anyone can read lyrics, memorize them, and sing them. It takes true talent to write music.

I read Melissa Etheridge's autobiography 3 times. I enjoyed her music beforehand ("Come to my Window" is my fall-back song when I go karaoke-ing). She writes all her stuff. After reading why she wrote her songs... What happened to bring the lyrics to her, the songs sound different. I can somehow hear her emotions... Her heartbreak, her pain, her joy.

Day Seven

Do you read? What are your favorite books?

I do read, just not as much as I would like due to not having the time.

I have a few favorite books...

I love "Go Ask Alice" about a troubled teen... In fact, I think all teenagers (especially girls) should have to read it... It really gives you perspective and compassion.

I love all Nicholas Sparks books... It amazes me that there's such a sappy, romantic, brilliantly eloquent man on this planet and time after time, I fall right into his stories, and fall in love with his characters.

I love James Patterson, too. His books are so incredibly captivating and I get sucked into them, too.

As you can see, I don't have a favorite "genre", I just like what I like... I love reading and will pick up just about anything, but if I'm not "into it" 50 pages in, I put it down and don't ever try again.

Now that I'm caught up on my 30-day thingymajig, I think I'm going to do a FO entry now...
