Year 1921
Finally something new in our lives… Really, someone new. Carlisle was working one night when someone brought in this woman, that had jumped off a cliff… trying to kill herself. But he soon discovered that she wasn’t dead, he looked at her beautiful face and recognized her from many years ago. He brought her back here… The smell of the blood was agonizing for me, Carlisle barely noticed it… Then he changed her into one of our kind. After a few nights of pain, she awoke. Immediately I noticed something between the two of them… something strong and deep. It’s been nearly a month since Esme joined our family. Carlisle told her of our kind, our world and she expected it almost completely.

Her story was that her escaped from her abusive husband when she realized she was pregnant. Her baby was her whole world but when she gave birth to him, he didn’t survive and she felt as though she had no reason to go on.

She knows that she will never again have that chance but there have been talks of a marriage between her and Carlisle.. They both look to me as a son and I suppose I could understand. I believe they are just setting themselves up for disappointment.

I feel the monster is going to win some days… I feel like fleeing from here, it’s getting harder and harder to write. But I don’t want to dwell on that. The more I think of it the harder it is to control.

I have started playing the piano, Esme seems to really enjoy it… I’ve even composed a song for Carlisle and Esme. I will write later…
