On Saturday this past weekend. Tonya's sister got married.
Again.
Her first wedding was awful. The groom even said it himself that he was thinking about backing out of the wedding that morning. Nevertheless, the wedding went on as planned, and Tonya's sister managed to settle for a guy who was about about 7 years her junior, and was probably as grown up and mature as a 4 year old.
They were never happy together. He treated her like shit, and she took it. Never ever saw her being anyone's doormat. Especially for a sleezeball like that.
They didn't talk nice to each other either. Especially in front of everyone. He would always make comments to her about needing to get on a treadmill, or getting back in the kitchen where she "belonged". It was just a bad relationship from the start. But it's crazy what someone will settle for when they don't feel like they had any other options.
Their marriage lasted about a year and a half. The arguments just kept getting worse and worse, and they were rarely happy together it seemed. She ended up getting pregnant. She went to the doctors office to make sure, and went home to tell him. She told him that she was pregnant, and he asked her for a divorce.
They split up at that point, and she moved back home with her parents. She found out later that her husband had been cheating on her for some time. Which is pretty sad, because Tonya's sister is pretty much the whole package. She might be one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She's a very giving person, and (not to mention) she's also insanely hot.
After a few months of being separated from her piece of shit husband, she met her new husband at her son's basketball game. His son was playing on the other team.
They started dating and soon became inseperable. He might be the complete opposite of her ex-husband. He's great with her kids, and he treats her like he's lucky to be with her. He proposed to her on Easter this year, and Saturday, they became husband and wife.
The wedding was small and simple. Only family and very close friends were invited. Tonya was looking pretty fantastic in her matron-of-honor dress too. *wink wink*
I have a feeling that this marriage will last substantially longer than her first one. She found a good guy. Even though I now have competition for the title of Favorite Son-in-law. I've had that locked up pretty good for a long time.
The rest of the weekend was pretty insignificant. We lounged around the house and did some fireworks shopping. It was too damn hot to do anything else....
