On my intro I said this is in part about a father who has never met his daughter. well, that is no longer true. Charlotte and I met last Nov, the day after Thanksgiving day. My mom was emailing her and describing out traditional thanksgiving meal, Char said it sounded good. Mom asked her if she would like to come think she meant it as a joke. Well char said she couldn't, but would like to come the day after. Now Mom thought she was joking. Anyway, one email led to another, and Char and her boyfriend/fiancee drove down that day and spent about five hours here. Now, I have too say, I have fought in 2 wars, jumped out of planes 1283 times, plus 6 HALO jumps and I have never been as scared as I was meeting Char. We didn't have any one on one time, but she met most of my family and really got along with my youngest nephew. I gave Char a stuffed chipmunk before she left. I think I may have mentioned it here before but I will do so again. I bought a set of chip and dale chipmunks when Carmen and I first started dating (Carmen is Charlotte's birth Mom). I gave one to her and I kept one. remember this is when I was 15 ( I am now 42) I gave it to Char just as she was leaving, and as we hugged good buy, I whispered to her that I have been wishing for this for 22 years. she almost cried, and I did cry. She is such an awesome young woman, and we have so much in common.
Denene and I are now separated and she has filled for divorce. on may 15th, my birthday, she left me a note taped to the computer. we separated last December for about 2 weeks, and I told her then that next time we separated would be the last time. This is not high school, and I am not going through hell every time she gets upset or depressed. so this time I packed up and left. She has asked once if I want to work things out, I told her no. I just can't keep going through this every few months. it disrupts my life and my job, and I can't keep disrupting that for sure, especially during storm season.
so, that is where my life is now. I let Carmen know Char and I met, and sent her a picture of Char and I.she wasn't happy, but oh well.
