End of Jury Service Monday, February 14, 2011

Oh my gosh, it has finally finished!  Being on a jury for a criminal trial.  Why oh why are people so very, very messed up?!
I would use the F word but it is not very polite.  But what these people did wasn't polite either.
I mean, really, if you are an adult, don't you use any sense?  Guess not.
As my dad used to say, these people don't have the sense that God gave geese!

But the jury was a great group of people: smart, thoughtful, careful, listening and critical thinking.
And pretty darned nice too.  From many walks of life, but all with the common goal of doing the right thing.
I can't imagine a better justice system than the jury trial system, as long as human beings are human beings.
Everybody makes mistakes, but this way, people get a good shot at being judged fairly.
Still, I hope that the man, the defendant in this case, has learned a life lesson.
Which is, if you've had a few drinks, don't get into a situation where you're going to lose your temper, especially if you tend to have a pretty strong temper.
JUST GET THE HECK AWAY!!  LEAVE IT ALONE!! FORGET ABOUT IT AND JUST GO LIVE YOUR LIFE!!
(Soapbox speech over.)

Now back to work for me.  Heck of a transition.  Tomorrow is a new day.  And soon I'll pretty much forget about all of this.
