Home Cures For Lice - Are These Natural Home Remed Monday, April 25, 2011

It really is every parent's nightmare, you send your youngster to school happy and healthy and geared up to have an productive day and then have them return unhappy and scratching having caught head lice off another class mate. When you take a better look, to your absolute terror you can see quite noticeably that their scalp is full of eggs and lice all contentedly setting up a nice comfy and cosy home on your child's head. Thoughts of your mum's home cures for lice go racing through your mind while you frantically make an attempt to remember what she used back then when you were the one infested with them. There are plenty of old wives tales and recipes for home cures for head lice but are they pretty safe and would they work. Compare them to aggressive not organic treatments which can sometimes burn the scalp and in some cases cause hair loss, then natural home remedies get my vote every time. But will they work as effectively and in as short a period as a doctors or pharmacies selections. Over time I have gathered together many different solutions and home cures and most if not all are present with the stuff that most people curently have in just their cupboards right at home. Let's consider some methods and ways in which you implement them. An remarkably basic but extremely effective method is to totally lather your little one's scalp with normal everyday conditioner, keep it on for as long as you possibly can possibly even slip on a shower cap to minimize the mess. Rinse out with tepid to warm water and comb the hair working with a special head lice comb. The conditioner prevents the lice and their eggs from having the capability to adhere to the hair and when repeated a few times will completely get rid of the nasty little insects, whilst leaving your hair fabulous and shiny. Another really simple way is plain old salt mixed in with a cup of water. Massage this solution through your childrens scalp and hair and then leave it alone for about an hour. After this you should just wash it out using normal shampoo and comb the hair through by using a special lice comb. The one thing to look out for is if your child has any cuts or scratches on his head because it can sting a little, so complete a check before you start. You might not realized but good old mayonnaise is fabulous for wiping out head lice. Run through small sections of the hair about an inch at a time and put on a heavy covering of mayo. Repeat this so that the entire head and scalp is covered. Put on a shower cap and leave on over night and rinse out in the morning with conventional shampoo. Repeat this process two more times and your lice problem will be eliminated. You'll want to go through the hair with a special lice comb to be sure all of the lice and eggs are gotten rid of completely. Margosa shampoo and conditioner which you should find at any decent natural food store works really well too. Just apply the shampoo much the same way you might an ordinary shampoo and then wash out and blow dry the hair on high heat. Continue this technique two more times on alternate days and you'll be head lice free. As we discussed there are lots of home cures for lice which can be quite easily and simply applied and if you're thinking about those awful little creatures returning just wash your hair with Margosa once a week and you will never ever see lice again.
