Learn To Say “No” Thursday, July 21, 2011

My niece Lyle has many responsibilities at church. She’s a secretary in young women organization, representative in single adult’s organization and a teacher in youth class. Despite of being busy at school also, making her thesis and other projects, she takes all the responsibilities that their president in young women organization asked her to do. She can’t say the word “No” every time she was given a responsibility even if she has a lot of things to do in her schooling and at home. This results her a stressful life, she can’t sleep well and get more pimples on her face.

There are really people accept too many responsibilities. If you take all of them, not only will you be really stressed but some important things or task will be done unsuccessfully or not at all. We must know our limits and potency and be firm. If you don’t have time to do something or simply don’t want to do it, then learn to say “No”. You can actually refuse in a nice way try to say that you are flattered that you’ve been trusted to do the task, however you won’t be able to give your commitments at this time. I am sure if you are firm of what you said other people will understand you.
