| The Story of Flapjack |

I woke up early this morning from a very vivid dream in which I was sleeping in bed and started being able to feel the baby move from the outside. I had a hand over my belly and I could feel little elbows and knees pushing out at me and I excitedly woke up my husband so that he could feel it too. It was very disappointing to wake up and realize that nope, I actually am still not far enough along for my husband to feel the movements, Flapjack is still too tiny. It's weird to wake up from a dream where you were being woken up in bed by something, it's a bit too Inception-like. The cleaning has continued during this week, my husband has gone through tons of old paperwork and I finally got my comics all sorted and put away in spiffy binders. That's right, I said, "spiffy'! I pulled out several comics that I never really enjoyed reading when I was a kid, and I put those aside to be sold, I probably won't get much of anything for them, but they take up a lot of space so I'm glad I'll be rid of them. The comic book shop where we sold my husband's collection is near my sister's house, so I plan to drop the stuff off tonight then spend some time at her house doing Zumba on the Wii. We did it together last week and it's pretty fun, although I look pretty hilarious doing some of those hip shakes and shimmies with my big ol' round belly. We've got some kind of crazy heat-wave going on in the New England area these last few days. Yesterday it hit about 95ºF, and today it's estimated to hit 97ºF, so I wasn't able to do my daily walk yesterday, nor will I be able to do it today. One side effect of this is my feet got swollen again yesterday after sitting at a desk all day, then coming home and doing dishes and things. By the time we'd done some more cleaning and I'd cooked dinner, the skin was so tight I could feel it with every step. It didn't hurt, and it wasn't even really that uncomfortable, it just felt really strange. They're still a bit swollen today, but I'm hoping the Zumba tonight will help get my fluids moving around. Luckily the temperature is supposed to drop back down over the weekend, so I should be able to start doing my walks again. Keeping active really seems to help keep me feeling normal. My husband started a blog of his own to keep track of his thoughts and what's going on during this pregnancy and I finally asked him if he wouldn't mind my sharing it with everyone on here, and he gave me the OK yesterday. I thought some people might be interested in hearing his half of things too. His blog is way better than mine, he draws little pictures for every entry and he even made an FAQ and put up a very useful list of baby names. For those interested, you can check it out at Old New Dad. I think he's pretty funny and clever, but I could be biased, since I married him and all.
