Before you do anything with your diary (including writing entries, changing styles, adding favorites, etc.), you must unlock it.
To unlock your diary, go to the upper left corner of any screen in Open Diary. If your diary has not been unlocked, there will be two text boxes right below the OD logo. Type your user name in the first box, and your password in the second box, then click the Unlock button.
If you have entered the correct name and password, the upper menu bar will change to include a My Diary menu and a Favorites menu. In addition, your user name will appear at the right end of the upper menu bar. Clicking your user name will take you directly to your diary.
If you enter an incorrect user name or password, you will see an error message.
