Theme of the Week

This week's topic is:

Have you ever been a victim of prejudice?

Writing an entry for the Theme of the Week is easy! First, write an entry in your diary like you normally would. Make sure that the entry follows the theme - entries that do not follow the theme will have to be removed.

After you have your entry in your diary, come to this page and click the "submit a theme entry" link above. If you don't see the "Submit an Entry" link, it is because your diary is not unlocked - you must first unlock your own diary before submitting a theme entry. After you click "submit a theme entry", the next screen will show you a list of your most recent diary entries. Select the one that is the theme entry and click "Submit" - that's it!

The theme will be changed once a week. If you have a suggestion for a future theme, please feel free to post it on the OD Boards Theme Suggestions thread.

Have I been a victim of prejudice? Actually, yes I have... Kind of.. Last year towards the end of the school year some of my friends would come over to jump on my trampoline and just hang out... But the one's that were over...

Have you ever been a victim of prejudice?
Yes, I have.  I've been harassed over my sexuality due to prejudice.  (If you are offended by LGBT issues, don't leave mean comments on here.  If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.  Also, I strongly suggest you go work on your attitude if this is the case.  All names have been changed). I was 17 years old and a junior in high school at...

What is your worst habit? Why don't you give it...
My worst habit is drinking too much soda.  I know it's so bad for you, but it's so good.  I'm addicted to the caffeine.  I could drink coffee, but it's too bitter, so I don't like the taste.  I drink regular because I can't stand diet.  Diet, to me, is disgusting.  It leaves this disgusting bitter taste in the back of my throat.  My mom always yelled at me...

Theme of the Week
This evening, a bunch of kids were playing and riding their bikes in the street in front of my house; a normal summer evening around here. Then I heard a white boy, about six years old ask a black boy, about eight years old, “What’s so wrong about being black?” The black boy kept riding his bike and replied, “Nothing”.  And the kids kept...

Prejudice
This week's theme is, "Have you ever been a vicitm of prejudice?"  My answer is an unabashed yes. As a conservative, white, self identified Christian, I have been told or asked how I could possibly experience it and told it is me and others like me that are the ones to show prejudice. Actually, I experience it all the time; especially here on the net or on campus. People...

Glass house. Stone. Have fun
Theme: Have I ever been the victim of prejudice? Answer: When have I not? We are all victims of prejudice; people look at us, see what is on the surface, and they assume things. And those assumptions affect the way they deal with us. Can't be helped. The most we can do is deliberately shape the way people see us into the way we want them to see us, so that the prejudices help us, or at least...

theme of the week
Yes, I think most people have experienced it in some way.   It's not just about race, religion, disabled, sexual orientation that people can be prejudice about. I recall meeting up with some of Larry's coworkers yrs ago for example. He asked me what I did, and when I stated I didn't work, he went to say  "I see that explains things" .   The...

The only white person on the bus
I know it sounds a bit strange, but I quite like to be accused of racism because I have much ammunition with which to defend myself. I'm white, and I was born in one of the most affluent counties in England. My family is not...

Theme of the Week - Prejudice and Disability
Prejudice? Such a loaded word with so many different meanings to different people, it's pretty much endless really and will continue to be. Has a child I really didn't know what that is, what is the concept prejudice? How can someone not like me for who I am? Ahh the innocence. Before I continue, let me first introduce myself, I just created this "opendiary" literally hours ago, out...
