The power of the Nupe.

Remember that commercial from a few years back?…Gotta headache…just Nupe it!  I can’t recall if this was before or after the Nuprin ad campaign that was little.yellow.different.better.  Not important really.  Well, over the weekend we introduced Ryan to Nupe it.  He and I were playing and Nupe it just came into my head…so I said it…out loud.  Ryan stopped what he was doing and giggled.  So, like any man of a child who normally doesn’t giggle or smile unless tickled, giggles, I did it again.  He giggled again.  Each time, he giggled for longer, until he was nearly throwing his head back in a huge belly laugh.  Nupe it.  *giggle*  Nupe it.  *giggle*  Nupe it.  *giggle*  *giggle*  *giggle*  Honey!  You’ve gotta come see this.  Diana says “Nupe it”  Ryan giggles.  Oh, praise ye oh higher power, my son laughs!  We got the video camera out and we nuped it and he giggled right on cue.  I figured we’d need this footage later when things got rough. Fast forward to yesterday.  Our daycare provided made a comment that Ryan rarely smiles – he’s more the reflective serious type (more like his daddy).  He’s not in a bad mood, ya just know that something is going on in that little brain of his.  Anyway, I suggested she just nupe it.  I proceeded to demonstrate…I nuped.  He giggled.  Jackie was shocked.  She’s been with him for a week now and never seen him smile….until I nuped.  I wonder if Nuprin is still around?  I gotta thank them for their product…or their ad campaign anyway.

In other news, I had poker night with the guys.  I am not good at poker…I lost $4.75.  It was fun though.  I appreciate that Diana doesn’t give me crap for wanting to hang out with the guys like a lot of wives do.  Actually, she encourages it.  I am a bit of loner and she (being the social butterfly that she is) does not get that I don’t need to be going out all the time.  Every once in a while is nice.  An evening of poker, beer and hanging out with guys is well worth the $4.75 I lost.  I love Diana and I love being around women, but sometimes, being around guys…and only guys, can be refreshing.

I know what you mean.

I take on the Nuprin slogan as my own. I don’t understand why some wives won’t let their husbands hang out with the guys. Go, have fun, let me have the house in peace!
