Lifting for 5-5-9
Applebees took their key lime shooter off their dessert menu. I can’t eat the entire thing, but I liked sharing it with Candi. Made me sad. Oh well, means we don’t be buying it, then. Candi was in the mood to peruse, so we went to Target. It was I who ended up stimulating the economy, buying two expansion packs for Sims2 (University and Apartment Life), new headphones, an American Pie box set, and a Addams Family movie set. My grand strategy was to wait until the expansion packs were packaged together like they were for the first Sims. In the absence of seeing this happen, I decided, “I want them now. I will buy them!” I recall most of the expansion packs for the first Sims were actually quite useless. Vacation? WTF was the point of that? I LOVED Superstar. Makin` Magic made no sense to me. Hot Date added a lot of functionality.
I may need to buy a new video card for Sims3. We’ll see. I may just delay entirely buying it for a long time. The upgrades to the personality system look nice, but I just haven’t any need for a newer version of Sims at this time.
We watched all three American Pie movies in a row. I think I’ll write about it later.
I told the girl I’ll probably be overdosing on Sims tonight. She could come over, but I’d feel bad about not giving her attention. Hey, I’m honest. Occurred to me after the fact that today’s the best day to visit Erik & company. I should probably go see them, because I have an atrocious habit of being a hermit and a terrible friend. Moreover, I just can’t seem to overdose on video games like I used to. A break will keep my urge to play fresh.

T-Bar Row: 10, 10, 10 @ 90 lbs

Supine Hip Extension with Leg Curl: 3×10 @ BW
BB Push Press: 10, 4, 4 @ 95 lbs (+10 lbs)
Alternating Sets
DB Dynamic Lunges: 3×10 @ 25 lbs
Upper Body Russian Twist: 3×10 @ BW
Metabolic Overdrive: 4 rounds on elliptical (1 minute hard, 2 minutes recovery)
Well, this just sucked hard. I hit a critical weight on front squats that effected my form. My row form was off, because I was trying to bang out the reps quickly. But that wasn’t a huge issue.
The push presses were too heavy. I fucking hate when that happens. I banged out 85 lbs last week with awesome form. Ten pounds more, and it was just too much. I’ll ease back to 85 lbs for the rest of the routine. It really pissed me off and I had to tell myself not to beat myself up over it.
I was going to increase the lunge weight, but given the pattern of the workout, I kept it the same. Wise decision.
Intervals felt hard. I just didn’t seem to have the energy today. I think Tuesday ends up being my weakest workout of the week, while Thursday feels the easiest. Funny how days off effect me.
I was sad too. I wanted to try it when I was last there, and it was GONE.
