Friday Friday

It’s my night off… so it’s most likely laundry night.

I drove around in my van this morning/last night and had no troubles..The van feels a little bit friskier… even though the fuel filter doesn’t really affect the speed that much.  Oh, well, umm, I guess it does, cuz, like, no fuel going thru it means no running engine. 

 Whatever.  the point is, my van runs again and feels good.

(that won’t jinx it will it?  Or should I be all negative, meaning positive stuff???)

So, they’re selling "lifetime" memberships to Open Diary.  Since I’m here so much, I would buy one if I could, but a hundred bucks is called for elsewhere… if not there than here, )(&()*^ bills.

I drive around and compose entries in my mind for OD.  I look at things and think, "what’ll people on OD say ’bout that?"  I don’t so much live my life as describe it to myself sometimes, thinking how it’ll look online at OD.

I would, like, be disturbed and all about that whole thing – I mean, it’s like classic OCD to spend all my time here on OD.  My VCR and DVD are, like, totally jealous of my computer….

Of course, the real trick is getting those mental entries onto the computer.  When I went back to college after the wreck, I bought and used a lot a handy little cassette recorder.  It has voice activation on it, so, I could drive around and talk to it.

Well, so what – I’d have to listen to it to transcribe it and I would be hearing that (*^*& dinger thing going off all the time (that has seldom stopped in the van).  I dont wanna hear that at home.  I don’t know about those type by voice programs…maybe that would do it for me?  Play the tape to the computer, go through it and edit it, and post it here?

Amazingly enough, even after $77 of unplanned and unbudgeted van expenses, I am not flat broke.  I’m supposed to get a line a credit this coming week, and so I’m thinking real carefully of what I need vs what I want.  That "want" though, is a strong and greedy thing.

It was long a subject for jokes, guys and their cars, and I’m living some of that, because a lot of my "spare" cash goes into the van.  Except, well, it’s not going to fancy wheels, or the radio, or anything but maintenance and gas.  I have a list of things I could do to the van… and that radiator still worries me.  So, the not-free money will go to things that keep me working, not necessarily "fun" stuff.

Good thing I like this work.
